We started our Hawaiian vacation in O'ahu. The first day we visited Pearl Harbor and had dinner at Plantation Tavern. Then we saw the sunset at Ko Olina lagoon and finished the evening with a few rounds of gin in the hotel bar. The next day we went to Mass at St. Jude's, where we were greeted by the locals and given shell necklaces. Later we did a Dolphin Watch & Snorkel cruise that included a BBQ lunch. That night we had dinner at Brick Oven pizza before flying to Kauai.
Our first day in Kauai was Debbie & Greg's 19th wedding anniversary. We began the day walking around the resort hotel and feeding the koi fish. We had lunch at Kukui's at the resort and then went swimming at the resort pools before heading out to Poipu Kauai. Dad & Gina went ziplining at Poipu Zipline while Mom and Alex walked to Baby Beach and got ice cream & coffee at Lapperts. That night we attended a luau at our resort with entertainment from Hawaii Alive. Later that night Debbie & Greg went out for drinks at Duke's.
On our second day in Kauai, we went tubing with Mountain Tubing Adventure in Kauai Backcountry. Later that day we went swimming at the resort pool followed by dinner at Cafe Portofino.
On our first day in Maui, we visited Ho'okipa Beach to see sea turtles. Then we spent some time in the small town of Paia, where we had lunch at Flatbread Company and did some shopping at Paia Mercantile and Cesere Brothers art gallery. Then we stopped at Paia Gelato for coffee and Ululani's shaved ice. That night we had dinner and Mai Tai's at Monkey Pod.
The next day began with a walk along the beach and then breakfast at Sunrise Cafe. After breakfast we went on a submarine tour with Atlantis Adventures. Afterwards, we stopped by Badass Coffee before heading to dinner with one of Greg's former co-workers at Maui Brewing Company.
After checking in at Courtyard King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel, we went to Billfish grill and bar for drinks and snacks. Then we hung out on the beach where we saw an ancient temple replica and tons of cool fish that swam into shallow water. We spent a little time at the pool before heading to dinner at Kona Brewing company. We also stopped by Puna Chocolate company for some sweet treats.
The next day we did a Hidden Craters Hike with Hawaii Forest & Trail. We hiked across Hualalai volcano and into a native forest where we saw volcanic craters and climbed through a lava tube. Afterwards, we got a private tour of Oha Brewery and samples of local beer and cider. Then we headed to the airport to fly back to San Diego.
