After spending a few days in Washington D.C., the second stop on our East Coast summer trip was New York City. We had a great time visiting the sites, eating New York style pizza, seeing a Broadway Show and visiting with Greg's old roommate Dee. Below is as a recap of everything we did as well as photos of our visit to New York City.
Wednesday 8/2: Our first day began with a train trip from Washington D.C. to New York City. After walking through Times Square in the rain with our luggage, we had lunch at Tick Tock Diner. Next we stopped at Heartland Brewery for the Voyager beer sampler. Later that day we stopped by Greg's cousin's house to visit with her family before having dinner at FRED's.
Thursday 8/3: We started off the day with breakfast at Gregory’s Coffee and then visited the Reflecting Pools and Oculus at the World Trade Center Memorial. Later we visited the New York Stock Exchange, Wall Street Charging Bull and Fearless Girl. Then we took the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and had a slice of pizza at A & S Pizza on Staten Island. After taking the ferry back to Manhattan, we visited the Museum of Natural History. Next we took the subway back to our hotel and then went to Black Iron Burger for dinner.
Friday 8/4: We began our day with a quick breakfast at the hotel bistro before heading to the Empire State Building. Next we had lunch at 2 Bros. Pizza and then we took a Roosevelt Island Tram ride across the city. Later that day we stopped by St. Patrick's Cathedral for a quick visit and then had drinks at Rockefeller Center. Gina and Debbie stopped by the American Girl Store for a bit before we visited the NBC Building. After that we had dinner at Mamma Mia’s in Hell's Kitchen, which was SO delicious. We ended the night with a relaxing game of gin at the hotel bistro before bed.
Saturday 8/5: We started the day with breakfasts at Bagels and Coffee. Next we went to The MET before seeing a matinee showing of WICKED at Gershwin Theater. That night we met Greg's college roommate Dee at Morgan's BBQ in Brooklyn, followed by dessert at Ample Mills Ice Cream. We took a nighttime Lyft ride across the Brooklyn Bridge, to get back to our hotel and saw some awesome views of the city at night.
Sunday 8/6: On our last day in New York City, we had breakfast at Gregory's Coffee, followed by Mass at St. Michael's. After that we caught a train to Philadelphia.
